A Message from Nueces County ---------------------------- Dear Republican Supporter: Congratulations Nueces County Republican Party! Your long-awaited day to bring lower taxes and responsible, open government to the citizens of the Coastal Bend has now dawned. On November 7, 2006, you moved the voters of Nueces County to elect a record number of Republicans to public office in Nueces County. You retained other Republican seats and have laid a sound foundation for future growth. We took over the major offices at the Courthouse and are in striking distance of a majority of the commissioners’ court. We will take back a state representative seat and have a good probability of gaining another. The voting patterns of the county are shifting as they move from the western county to the more conservative eastern county. As you celebrate, remember that another challenging election year is near. The next campaign has already begun. We must start now to insure that we protect the ground we have won and capture more seats in the future.
Your Republican Party will have more candidates running for local offices this election cycle. To be sure that your success continues, we must have tools to maintain the party, support our candidates, and convince the uncommitted vote. Among the tools are keeping a headquarters office, computer and Internet infrastructure, developing a larger volunteer base, and the lubricant of all politics – money. Building your party is like building a stone house. The stones are not all thrown in place at one time. They are placed stone by stone. Some are large and most are small, and your contributions are like that house. They need not all be large, but incremental and constant. Although the candidates will run their own campaigns, they all need the same tools to win. The Party is the source of those tools. Your money will be used for databases, lists of consultants, mailing lists, walk lists, polling, get out the vote efforts, and candidate funding, just to name a few.
In addition to county resources, statewide support may prove to be a crucial element of victory. In order to obtain attention and resources from the state level, we must be able to show our credibility and viability by raising our profile and visibility. Because of your hard work and recent victories, the Party is now positioned to reach outside the county to obtain the funds and resources from across the state, valuable tools that were so recently beyond our grasp. Your successes have not gone unnoticed. Statewide elected leaders have expressed a renewed interest in Nueces County because of your Republican victories. The election of Loyd Neal as County Judge has been of particular note. Today, no one can deny that contributions to Nueces County Republican candidates are good investments. It is now easy for everyone to help sustain and increase the growth of the County Party. Donations may now be made over the Internet. Contributions are the lifeblood of successful campaigns. Regular contributions of even $10.00 a month will make the difference in the outcome of the races.
